Latest study conducted in 2011 - 2013 by Wollongong and Griffith University of Australia, National Archeology Center of Indonesia and Makassar Center for Cultural and Heritage Preservation showed the uranium dating result for this specific painting is 39,900 years old MINIMUM. Rivaling the one is Spain previously known as the oldest (40,000 years old of hand stencil). The result was published in Nature magazine, October 2014.
